Espoo, Finland — 8.10.2024 — Emberion, the leading innovator in quantum dot based shortwave infrared sensing technology, is showcasing at Vision-Stuttgart the first in a family of optimized spectral range variants. Emberion’s current VS20 Vis-SWIR camera offers a broad spectral range from 400 to 2000 nm. There is however need for optimized image sensor options covering the spectral ranges needed to drive mass deployment in key application areas. To respond to this need Emberion will be offering a broad family of spectrally optimized variants extending from 400 to 2500 nm.
As the first member of this new product family, Emberion is introducing the VS17 Core at Vision, which demonstrates optimized spectral sensitivity in the key wavelength range between 1500nm and 1750 nm, with a spectral peak at 1650 nm. This makes the VS17 particularly suitable for 1550 nm laser detection and surveillance applications within the 1500 – 1700 nm atmospheric absorption window. Additionally, the Emberion VS17 offers enhanced performance for plastic sorting systems with material absorption peaks around 1700 nm.
The Emberion VS17 is available for pre-order now, with shipments during 2024. It is available in two options: as a core or fully integrated camera. Stay tuned for additional detail on sensor performance and pricing.
Meet Us at Vision to Hear More and Share Your Application Needs
We are actively looking to engage with lead customers on the VS17 as well as to help us build out the next generation of spectrally optimized derivatives. Application specific requirements are of specific interest for our development to ensure the relevance of our future variants.
We are exhibiting at Vision 2024 in Stuttgart October 8th to 10th at booth 10B10 where you are welcome to hear more from our experts.
