Tapani Ryhänen has been appointed to CEO of Emberion as of September 1, 2023, as Jyrki Rosenberg has decided to pursue other interest outside of Emberion. Tapani is a founder of Emberion and has previously served as the CEO and CTO of the company. Following Tapani’s nomination, Mark Allen has been appointed to CTO of Emberion as of September 1, 2023. Mark has been leading several of Emberion’s core R&D activities since Emberion was founded.
During the past 10 years, Tapani and his team have systematically worked to create novel image sensors and cameras based on colloidal quantum dots and 2D layered materials. This has led to a competitive portfolio of Emberion SWIR cameras with plans to expand wavelength range to MWIR opening numerous applications in industrial machine vision, spectroscopy and eventually in consumer applications. This will be possible using lower cost manufacturing technologies and novel materials.
